Soak it in, that new
summer sun,
Born in June,
Still playful in its
youth,
Dancing on the wings
of the breeze,
Coaxing green into
each blade of grass,
A smiling child one
cannot help but indulge.
Too soon, she'll
change
Scorching, burning
Then cold and
distant, aloof over fields of white.
But today, she
laughs
Imploring you to
join her
Arms open wide,
spinning, twirling,
Joyful in the
simplicity
Of blue sky and
green leaf.
