Waves crash, tossed
into motion by a forceful wind. At my feet, the waves foamed onto tiny pebbles
and sand, reaching out for a hold and failing…but attempting yet again to grasp
the slippery surface of the earth. Their perseverance raged in my ears, echoing
in the shadow veils in my mind, blocking out any other sounds. A distance away my little blond son called to
me, but his child-voice drowned in the rampage. Undaunted, he smiled and turned
back to the sea, his little hand filled with rocks. One by one, he threw them,
a gift offering to the relentless waves so ravenous for a taste of land.
I like the description.
ReplyDeleteI liked how you talked about the crashing waves.
